Plastic Sauna Suit- Maintenance

You may be wondering whether or not a plastic sauna suit would be a good purchase or not, and there are many different aspects that you will factor in. You will be looking at the cost of the sauna suit, and if the sauna suit will be effective for you. You will also want to know how to clean sauna suit. After all, if you wear the sauna suit while you are exercising, and you are using it effectively, it is going to become coated in sweat, which, as we all know, can smell. And you don’t want your sauna suit to start smelling like a pair of month-old gym socks.

You may also be wondering: if my sauna suit is made of plastic, how do I wash it? The answer to this question is simple. There are some sauna suits that are safe to machine wash, but this depends on the brand you choose to purchase. If your sauna suit is not safe to throw in the washing machine, all you have to do is wash it in the sink with a small amount of detergent. Any sort of soap will do- you can even use dish soap if you have to. Just swish it around a few times, squeeze it out and hang it up to dry.

I can also tell you from experience that if you have a front load washing machine with a delicate cycle, it is quite easy to throw your suit in there and hang it up to dry when the cycle is done. Never put your plastic sauna suit in the dryer for the obvious reason that the heat from the dryer could melt the thin plastic layer.

Though washing your suit on the delicate cycle may not be as gentle as hand washing, it can sure save time if you are in a hurry.

Repairing your suit is also simple. Because plastic doesn’t have a lot of stretch to it, it can be easy to tear it on something, However, using a plastic repair kit, like the kind that is used on beach balls, for example, can extend the life of your suit as any small rips or tears can be repaired quickly and easily. As long as you don’t mind wearing a sauna suit that is full of patches, this is a great solution. Plus patches are available in assorted colors, so if you can find the color that matches the color of your sauna suit, your repair job will be a lot less noticeable.

And, if your plastic sauna suit is torn and you are in a crunch, there is always duct tape!
